German-English Translations

How I work

After a close reading of the German text, I confer with the author regarding audience, publication format, etc. Then I write a first draft, paying special attention to scientific terminology and inserting questions or suggestions as needed.

Depending on the author's response to the initial draft, I make any desired changes, edit the document and create a final version in digital form.

Proofreading

If the publication has illustrations or a complex layout, as is typical of museum texts and panels at archaeological sites, I like to proofread the print-ready version and correct errors (e.g. word division problems).

Prices

According to European document norm EN 15038, I charge 1.25 € per line of text. For extensive documents, I offer a flat rate: please contact me for an offer.  New customers are asked to pay a deposit of 50% of the total charge; this does not apply to returning customers.

Audio version

I can provide an audio version of your document,  useful for practicing English pronunciation and intonation when preparing a speech or conference presentation (35 € for recordings, up to 1 hour speaking time, AIFF or WAV format).
